{"639392":{"#nid":"639392","#data":{"type":"event","title":"TSW Lecture by Justin Garrett Moore","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EWe are excited to announce a new lecture as part of our School of Architecture Lecture and Event series, the TSW Lecture on Urban Design.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EJustin Garrett Moore\u0026#39;s lecture titled, \u0026quot;Building Equity and Sustainability,\u0026quot; will include a walking tour of the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/edc.nyc\/project\/hunters-point-south\u0022\u003EHunter\u0026#39;s Point South\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;development, and he will discuss his work with\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/urbanpatch.rw\/\u0022\u003EUrban Patch\u003C\/a\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMoore is a transdisciplinary designer and urbanist and serves as the executive director of the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/nyc.gov\/designcommission\u0022\u003ENew York City Public Design Commission\u003C\/a\u003E. He has extensive experience in architecture, urban design, and planning\u0026mdash;from large-scale urban policies and projects to grassroots and community-based planning, design, and arts initiatives. At the Public Design Commission, his work focuses on prioritizing quality and excellence for the public realm and fostering accessibility, diversity, and inclusion in New York\u0026#39;s public buildings, landscapes, and art. He is a member of the American Planning Association\u0026#39;s AICP Commission, the Urban Design Forum, and the Black urbanist collective\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/blackspace.org\/\u0022\u003EBlackSpace\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMoore is an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University\u0026#39;s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, and the Yale School of Architecture. His social enterprise,\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/urbanpatch.org\/\u0022\u003EUrban Patch\u003C\/a\u003E, focuses on sustainable development through social and environmental design projects in the United States and Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida and a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAbout TSW\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETSW is a full-service, multidisciplinary design firm in Atlanta.
