As the summer comes to a close, here are a few things you might have missed.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EOne Student Center, Many Locations\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EConstruction of the new Student Center is underway. The new Exhibition Hall is open and features Panda Express, Graze salad bar, Kaplan Test prep, and the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/studentcenter.gatech.edu\/georgia-tech-post-office\u0022\u003EPost Office\u003C\/a\u003E. Many of its previous offices and services have new homes in temporary spaces. Click\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/studentcenter.gatech.edu\/student-center-move-out\u0022\u003Ehere\u003C\/a\u003E to locate restaurants, the Student Engagement Office, Burdell\u0026rsquo;s bookstore, and other services.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EHigh-Density Mail\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Student Center\u0026rsquo;s traditional mailboxes have been replaced with an efficient \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/studentcenter.gatech.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/hdm_1sheet_8x11_copy.pdf\u0022\u003Ehigh-density mail system\u003C\/a\u003E in the Exhibition Hall. Students will receive email notifications when they have mail and can access it using their BuzzCards.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ENew Eats at Food Trucks and Exhibition Hall\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/georgiatech.campusdish.com\/LocationsAndMenus\u0022\u003ENew dining options\u003C\/a\u003E are featured in the Student Center Exhibition Hall, including Rising Roll, Panda Express, Yahala! Mediterranean Kitchen, and Grab \u0026amp; Go. The Homestyle line features new menu options each day. Meal swipes are accepted for lunch and dinner. Also, a variety of food trucks are available across campus (BuzzCard Funds, Dining Dollars, and credit\/debit accepted).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ETech Trolley\u0026rsquo;s Last Ride\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis summer, PTS said farewell to the iconic Tech Trolley. Due to social distancing guidelines on campus transit, the Trolley was replaced with \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/pts.gatech.edu\/stinger-bus-routes\u0022\u003EStinger buses,\u003C\/a\u003E which can hold more passengers than the Trolley while maintaining a safe distance. Now called the Gold Route, the former Trolley route continues to provide service from the main campus to Tech Square and MARTA.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EGet Fit Virtually\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOver the summer, the CRC developed a virtual fitness program to support the Georgia Tech community. Work out remotely with CRC\u0026rsquo;s \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/crc.gatech.edu\/virtual-fitness\u0022\u003Evirtual fitness\u003C\/a\u003E program. Log on to view the Workout of the Day or specialty workouts like yoga, boot camp, strength training, and kickboxing. The program also includes fitness advice, weight alternatives, and tips for staying healthy.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EImproved Housing Maintenance Request System\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHousing and Residence Life implemented a new system for submitting \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/housing.gatech.edu\/maintenance-request-0\u0022\u003Emaintenance requests\u003C\/a\u003E. Students can link their requests to their individual rooms or shared spaces and submit photos. They can monitor project progress, receive status notifications, and reopen requests that need additional attention.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ERecycling on the Go\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EParking and Transportation Services (PTS) installed new recycling bins in several of its parking decks. As part of the department\u0026#39;s ongoing sustainability efforts, customers can now recycle plastic in each location. Recycling bins will be installed in all 14 decks in the coming months.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EResidence Halls Face Lift\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMore than 850 rooms in seven campus residence halls were given a makeover just in time for fall. Updates included fresh paint, flooring upgrades, LED lighting, and themed interior design. New sprinkler systems were installed in Field, Hanson, Hopkins, and Perry\/Matheson. Several residence halls are scheduled for upgrades later this year.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EBurdell\u0026rsquo;s Moves to Pavilion\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOnline textbook orders can be picked up for free at both Burdell\u0026rsquo;s in the Student Center Pavilion and Barnes \u0026amp; Noble @ Tech Square during the first two weeks of classes. Textbooks, supplies, computers, and other course materials can be paid via \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/bursar.gatech.edu\/content\/bookstore\u0022\u003EBursar\u0026rsquo;s accounts\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EShort-term Parking\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETo accommodate the needs of students and employees who take virtual classes or telework, PTS offers several convenient \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/pts.gatech.edu\/news\/short-term-parking-solutions-available-teleworkers\u0022\u003Eshort-term parking solutions\u003C\/a\u003E. Pay per use or on a weekly or monthly basis in most campus lots or decks. Most parking permits are now virtual and do not require a physical hangtag.
