The event is open to the public.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBradford Baker researches the intersection of behavioral ethics, decision making, and farming. Specifically, he explores the micro-level ethical decision-making processes farmers make around conventional, sustainable, or regenerative farming practices and the macro-level ethical impacts of these decisions. His research is focused on uncovering the psychological \u0026ldquo;barriers to entry\u0026rdquo; conventional farmers face when considering transitioning to regenerative farming practices.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDiscussion topics will include the following:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EWhat is the current state of agriculture in the United States? And how has Covid-19 illustrated a near total \u0026ldquo;stress test\u0026rdquo; failure of the food supply chain?\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EWhat is regenerative farming, and what role does it play reversing climate change?\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EIf we only have approximately 30 crop cycles left in the United States, why is there not a faster transition to regenerative farming?\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBaker will present his talk, engage in a Q\u0026amp;A with Center Faculty Director Beril Toktay, and take questions from the audience.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESpeaker Bio:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECenter-affiliated faculty member \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.scheller.gatech.edu\/directory\/shadow\/sustainability\/bradford-baker.html\u0022\u003EBradford Baker\u003C\/a\u003E is assistant professor of organizational behavior at Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. He received his Ph.D. from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on two areas. First, he examines individual and team proactive behaviors, such as speaking up and taking charge, and shows when and how these behaviors can either benefit or harm individual and team performance. Second, he also explores the impact of pro-other unethical behaviors, such as engaging in unethical acts to help one\u0026rsquo;s coworkers and organization.
