Returning for its second year in Fall 2020, the GOLD (Guiding Organization Leader Development) Route is designed for students who hope to hold a leadership position and for students who are active as members of officers in one of Georgia Tech's 550+ Student Organizations. The GOLD Route program equips participants with the skills and knowledge they need to make meaningful change in their student leadership roles and in their leadership beyond Tech. Students select from a wide variety of GOLD Route workshops to fulfill requirements of each of the 3 foundational pillars (Personal Leadership & Development, Organizational Development, and Equity, Diversity, & Inclusivity); this allows each participant to select the experiences and workshops which will most contribute to their leadership journey.Visitwww.student-organizations.gatech.edu for detailed information.

*To ensure access to all students and out of an abundance of caution, the GOLD Route will be entirely online for Fall 2020. All programs will be required to be hosted exclusively online in order to be considered a portion of the GOLD Route during this time

Each semester, the Center for Student Engagement and SGA host the Organizations Fair which provides students opportunities to connect with our 550+ Registered Student Organizations. This year, we are hosting twounique virtual organizations fairs: Week of Welcome Fair & Fall Organizations Fair!

In addition to hosting several our student organizations, the Fall Organizations Fair will include Departments and Offices from across campus.

*Each fair is open to and inclusive of international and graduate students. The Week of Welcome fair is part of Week of Welcome and targeted for First-Year Undergraduates and incoming Undergraduate Transfers. Visit welcomehome.gatech.edu for detailed Week of Welcome information.

Week of Welcome Fair| August 8-15, Online via Flipgrid and Engage (ongoing vitual access available all week)

The Week of Welcome Fair is designed to connect new First-Year and Transfer students with our 550+ Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). New students will be able to view informational videos from Registered Student Organizations. On Flipgrid, students will find RSO descriptive categories plus a few extra categories to give all the details helpful for students wanting to get involved. This week will also feature social media campaign titled “Meet Me @ the Org Fair” where student organizations will be promoting the organization fair on their individual social media pages.

Fall Organizations Fair| August 24-28, Online via Flipgrid and Engage (ongoing virtual access available all week)

The Fall Organizations Fair includes a student organization virtual fair, online engagement opportunities through the GOLD Route, and virtual events for students to interact with organizations of interest. During this week, student organizations have the option to host a virtual open house to engage with other Georgia Tech students. This opportunity is open to all Georgia Tech students who are looking to get involved this semester!

The JumpStart program recruits and trains Georgia Tech students to serve in local Pre-K classrooms, working with children on a weekly basis in order to develop the preschool students’ language and literacy skills. Jumpstart Corps Members serve as volunteers and may also be eligible to use this as an opportunity to earn a federal work study award. There is also opportunity to receive an AmeriCorps education award through the Jumpstart program. Jumpstart is currently accepting applications at jstart.org/apply.

Join us for MOVE's 10^thannual first-year service experience! Into the Streets integrates first-year students into Tech's campus and the Atlanta community through volunteering. This year, we are hosting a DIY “make it and return it” service event on-campus! Sign-up for a grab-bag that includes supplies and instructions for a DIY item and information on the organization we will be donating the items to! Grab bags can be picked up on-campus on Tuesday, August 11 and donated items will be collected throughout Week of Welcome! The Technique student newspaper welcomes all interested writers, photographers and designers to engage in the paper’s first meeting of the semester on Tuesday, August 18, at 7 p.m. Find more information at nique.net.

The Institute’s student radio station, WREK, 91.1 FM will hold a virtual informational meeting for all students interested in becoming engaged with the station. Multiple opportunities are available for students to get involved including, DJing, music production, sports announcing, business management and marketing. Find more information at WREK.org.
