{"636591":{"#nid":"636591","#data":{"type":"news","title":"RISE Up","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe Division of Student Life\u0026rsquo;s Women\u0026rsquo;s Resource Center has launched RISE (Reimagine, Inspire, Serve, and Empower), a first-year leadership organization for incoming undergraduate students interested in advancing gender equity and social justice at Georgia Tech.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERISE participants will gain valuable leadership skills and knowledge through coalition building, consciousness raising, and community service opportunities within the framework of feminist leadership principles. They will\u0026nbsp;reimagine a more equitable future,\u0026nbsp;inspire social change,\u0026nbsp;serve to promote community justice, and\u0026nbsp;empower women and their allies to take action for gender equity.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERISE will be a space for first-year students to build connections and a close-knit community from the beginning of their very first semester. They will also have access to a team of five student advisors who will help guide RISE programs and mentor incoming members as they move through their first year.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EApplications for inaugural RISE student advisor positions are now live and due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in their second year or above and in good academic standing.
