636581 news 1593439888 1593446177 <![CDATA[Water Main Break Continues to Affect Campus]]> A water main break at the corner of Hemphill Avenue and Ferst Drive is continuing to have an impact on the Georgia Tech campus.

A boil water advisory from the City of Atlanta was lifted Sunday evening, but low water pressure has forced the temporary suspension of research operations in five buildings near the break:

The current estimate for complete repair by the City of Atlanta’s Department of Watershed Management (DWM) is sometime between Wednesday and Friday of this week. Georgia Tech’s Emergency Preparedness team is working with DWM to manage effects on campus. It is not expected to experience another drop in water pressure, but Facilities Management is prepared and monitoring closely as DWM conducts repairs.

This situation may change as repairs are made. Updates will be provided by Emergency Management, Environmental Health and Safety, and the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research as new information is made available.
