We’re excited for our very first Week of Welcome, August 8-16. This week is an opportunity for first-year students to get to know their new home — campus-life and city-life. Students will get to move in a week earlier than other students to start making Georgia Tech their home and create connections that will last throughout their time at Tech.

Starting off with moving into their residence halls, students will get to:

• Connect with fellow Yellow Jackets through social and educational experiences.
• Attend workshops based on areas of interested to them — from traditions, to how to do laundry, to how to study for college-level tests, to how to have the best resume possible.
• Learn more about opportunities to be involved across all aspects of campus life.
• Have fun before classes start.

We know you may have a lot of questions about move-in, so here are some resources to help you get started:

• And as your student thinks about what to pack, visit Items to Bring for suggestions.

Once your student has received a room assignment they can view it and their roommate(s) information in My Housing. If a room change is desired, students can do this using the Room Swap tab in My Housing. It is best if all room changes are completed online prior to checking out the room key in August. If your student has not applied for housing, but would like to do so, the application is still open.
