Ries on Tax Reform

“Accepting [the proposed tax-reform recommendations] could put Georgia on the forefront of tax reform by shifting the tax
burden from income taxes to sales taxes," said Georgia Tax Reform Council
member Christine Ries, a professor in the School of Economics. She added, “States
that aren't reforming are instead boosting taxes on a smaller and smaller
number of taxpayers and suffering as a result. With this proposal, we are poised to take the lead among all of these
other forward-looking states.” Source: Morris News Service
