{"633215":{"#nid":"633215","#data":{"type":"news","title":"February Monthly 2020","body":[{"value":"\u003Ch1\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ECOMMITTEES UPDATE\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/h1\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAs of the start of this spring semester, three committees have defined the SOS structure with each focusing on difference aspects of sustainability:\u0026nbsp;Fridays for Future (climate awareness\/education), Eco-Warriors (climate action\/education), and the GT Community Garden (gardening).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFridays for Future:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;Continues hosting weekly tabling in Skiles Walkway to promote quick student action by messaging their representatives, and serve as a space for students to continue the conversation on Climate Change outside of the classroom setting (if present at all).\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EEco-Warriors:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;In addition to hosting weekly meetings at Kendeda 118 and focusing\u0026nbsp;on-campus sustainability projects\/initiatives, this group has recently added a focus on student education. This new focus aims to educate students on how to use existing sustainable infrastructure (such as recycling, composting) and how a student can take climate action everyday.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EGT Community Garden:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;The Community Garden still hosts garden work days throughout the semester with all the dates listed under the GT Community Garden page under \u0026quot;Committees.\u0026quot; These dates are also available on our Facebook page. Please note this date is the Monday following Spring Break and will follow a similar agenda layout to the February meetings. The main difference between the two meetings constituted the inclusion of a discussion on carbon offsets in the second meeting and an events-planning session in place of the committee breakout sessions.
