Office of International Education Update

The spring semester is a busy time for the Office of International Education (OIE) with many deadlines. If your student is interested in studying abroad during Summer 2020, Fall 2020, or Academic Year 2020-2021, they should submit their application materials before their program deadline. Many deadlines occur in early February. For full details and information, see our website or encourage your student to come meet with us.

With the start of the spring term, the study abroad scholarship season for summer and academic year/fall begins. The OIE Administered Scholarships deadline is February 15, 2020. There are also many Georgia Tech and national study abroad scholarship deadlines which occur in March and April, including:

the Mundy Study Abroad Funds for civil and environmental engineering majors

the Gilman Scholarship for students who receive a Pell Grant

the Freeman ASIA scholarship for students studying in Asia

the Campoamor Scholarships for students studying on an LBAT

Finally, now is a great time for students to get started on finding a global internship for the fall, as the search for summer internships is already in full swing. All Georgia Tech students are eligible to do a global internship (this includes: undergraduate and post-graduate students; domestic and international students). To sign up for the bi-monthly newsletter and learn about the opportunities with Tech, visit: https://oie.gatech.edu/gip.
