This architecture is selected to utilize the high availability and exposure of the visible light band in our surroundings and the ability to transduce\/sense this energy with CMOS compatible processes. System-level analysis of the energy delivery system(EDS) to provide a basic understanding of critical constraints when implementing energy harvesting for a self-powered standalone system is conducted. On-chip implementation of signal sensing and authentication with a test-chip is presented and evaluated. Design considerations to enhance the capability of the current design to realize the target application is also explored.
