  <title><![CDATA[Ivan Allen Social Courage Prize Events]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Georgia Tech is privileged to celebrate the legacy of a great alumnus and civic leader, former Atlanta Mayor Ivan Allen Jr.&nbsp;The generosity of the Wilbur and Hilda Glenn Family Foundation supports the Ivan Allen Jr. Prize for Social Courage, which recognizes those individuals exhibiting significant social courage.&nbsp;&nbsp;The 2020 recipients are Charlayne Hunter-Gault and the late Hamilton E. Holmes.</p>

<p>Faculty, staff, and student leaders are invited to attend this year&rsquo;s symposium and awards luncheon held in honor of the recipients on&nbsp;Wednesday, February 5, 2020, in The Biltmore Ballrooms,&nbsp;817 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30308. Students are invited to the Town Hall with the honorees.</p>

The symposium is open to the public and will focus on how personal courage influences social impact and creates inspirational role models for the next generation. The conversation will be facilitated by Alexis Scott and include Dr. Jim Bootle, Steve C. Jones, Michelle Garfield Cook, Tom Johnson, and Dr. Arthur Yancey.</p>
