In 2018, he made history as the first African American gubernatorial nominee in Florida.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWithin his career, Gillum has received various honors and accolades. In 2004, he was named to\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EEbony\u003C\/em\u003E\u0026nbsp;Magazine\u0026#39;s \u0026quot;Fast Track 30 Leaders Who Are 30 and Under.\u0026quot; In 2007, he was recognized as an Emerging Leader of the month by IMPACT and subsequently became their inaugural Emerging Leader of the Year during the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in September 2007.
