ALD treatments yield devices with both low current density (in average and in standard deviation) in the absence of the targeted signal and high current density in the presence of the targeted signal (high responsivity). These characteristics are desirable for improving the photodetector metrics such as the signal-to-noise ratio, the noise equivalent power, and the specific detectivity.
