I don\u0026rsquo;t try to teach well for recognition. I try to teach well because it\u0026rsquo;s a responsibility to the students that I take very seriously,\u0026rdquo; said Lowe.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMeredith Wolpert, (BA \u0026rsquo;19) is just one of his students who has benefitted from the dedication Lowe gives his students. She describes him as someone who \u0026ldquo;goes the extra mile\u0026rdquo; and really listens to his students , incorporating their feedback to improve coursework. Says Wolpert, \u0026ldquo;He has created such a positive impact on the Scheller community, and I am forever grateful for all the lessons \u0026ndash; both inside the classroom and out \u0026ndash; that he has taught me.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ELowe joined Scheller College in 2015. His academic credentials include a BA in Music from Brigham Young University, an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Texas A\u0026amp;M University. His focus is interpersonal influence and sensory marketing. Lowe\u0026rsquo;s previous awards include Texas A\u0026amp;M Mays Business School\u0026rsquo;s \u003Cem\u003EOutstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award\u003C\/em\u003E in 2012 and Scheller College\u0026rsquo;s \u003Cem\u003EProfessor of the Year\u003C\/em\u003E in 2017.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHis research in music\u0026rsquo;s affects on marketing was highlighted in Scheller College of Business\u0026rsquo; \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/issuu.com\/gatechbiz\/docs\/deans-report-scheller-gatech-2017\/8\u0022\u003E2017 Dean\u0026rsquo;s Report\u003C\/a\u003E article \u0026ldquo;If Size Matters: Lower Your Pitch,\u0026rdquo; in which Lowe, and colleague Kelly L. Haws, professor of Marketing at Vanderbilt\u0026#39;s University Owen Graduate School of Management, published as \u0026ldquo;Sounds Big: The Effects of Acoustic Pitch on Product Perceptions\u0026rdquo; in the \u003Cem\u003EJournal of Marketing Research\u003C\/em\u003E 54.2 (2017): 331-346.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EScheller colleague and marketing co-author, Cem Ozturk, assistant professor of Marketing, describes Lowe as follows: \u0026ldquo;Productive. Fun. Entrepreneurial. Humble. Enthusiastic. Professional. These qualities (and many more) make Mike a rare and invaluable co-author while creating new marketing knowledge. We are very fortunate to have him in our Marketing group at Scheller.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe father to five takes his teaching seriously and is constantly looking to improve the student experience. Says Lowe, \u0026ldquo;I really, genuinely, love those who I teach and want them to learn, succeed, and make this world better in whatever way they can,\u0026rdquo; he relayed.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOn winning the Poets and Quants \u003Cem\u003EFavorite Professors of Business Majors\u003C\/em\u003E award, Lowe remains humble. \u0026ldquo;I feel slightly uncomfortable because I know I have a million things I\u0026rsquo;d like to do better as a teacher. My goal is to get better, always.
