The supporting libraries extend the level of abstraction covered by CHDL from the solely constructive and generative to a range of hardware description paradigms including the register transfer level (RTL), an implementation of Bluespec-like guarded atomic actions (GAA), and a novel pipeline-oriented HDL providing a high-level synthesis flow from algorithmic descriptions of pipelined hardware. Design input using all of these paradigms is converted by CHDL into an in-memory gate level netlist that may be simulated, emitted as synthesizable Verilog, or technology mapped to a standard cell library for area and energy estimation. Access to this netlist, dubbed \u0026ldquo;netlist introspection\u0026rdquo;, is provided by the CHDL API, allowing novel\u0026nbsp;optimizations and transformations to be performed by the designer.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":"","field_summary_sentence":[{"value":"A Multi-paradigm C++ based Hardware Description Language "}],"uid":"28475","created_gmt":"2019-09-24 17:43:51","changed_gmt":"2019-09-24 17:44:34","author":"Daniela Staiculescu","boilerplate_text":"","field_publication":"","field_article_url":"","field_event_time":{"event_time_start":"2019-09-30T15:00:00-04:00","event_time_end":"2019-09-30T17:00:00-04:00","event_time_end_last":"2019-09-30T17:00:00-04:00","gmt_time_start":"2019-09-30 19:00:00","gmt_time_end":"2019-09-30 21:00:00","gmt_time_end_last":"2019-09-30 21:00:00","rrule":null,"timezone":"America\/New_York"},"extras":[],"groups":[{"id":"434381","name":"ECE Ph.D. Dissertation Defenses"}],"categories":[],"keywords":[{"id":"100811","name":"Phd Defense"},{"id":"1808","name":"graduate students"}],"core_research_areas":[],"news_room_topics":[],"event_categories":[{"id":"1788","name":"Other\/Miscellaneous"}],"invited_audience":[{"id":"78771","name":"Public"}],"affiliations":[],"classification":[],"areas_of_expertise":[],"news_and_recent_appearances":[],"phone":[],"contact":[],"email":[],"slides":[],"orientation":[],"userdata":""}}}
