They recently \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/local\/georgia-astronauts-students-businesses-shoot-for-the-moon\/Qeqh1EyEfZ6JlMCwb8hadO\/\u0022\u003Espoke with the \u003Cem\u003EAtlanta Journal-Constitution\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E about the project and its goals, one of which is to put the first woman on the moon.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Only 12 people have ever walked on the moon,\u0026rdquo; Kimbrough told the \u003Cem\u003EAJC\u003C\/em\u003E. \u0026ldquo;All were American men. Putting the first female boots on the moon will inspire a new generation of students, especially girls, to pursue STEM fields.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/astronauts\/biographies\/douglas-h-wheelock\u0022\u003EDoug Wheelock\u003C\/a\u003E, a fellow NASA astronaut and Tech graduate who earned his master\u0026#39;s degree in aerospace engineering, is also working on Artemis.\u0026nbsp;He \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/twitter.com\/NASA_Johnson\/status\/1172215802814222337\u0022\u003Erecently spoke (in a video posted on Twitter) on behalf of NASA about the project and how it will work\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe three astronauts and Yellow Jackets will participate in a live chat this week through Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s social media channels.
