Georgia Tech ECE Achieves Highest Placements Ever in U.S. News & World Report Undergraduate Program Rankings

The Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering has reached its highest placements ever in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Issue, which includes undergraduate engineering program rankings.

Electrical engineering maintained its fourth place position in the rankings for a fourth consecutive year. Computer engineering moved up a position to fourth place, its highest placement ever, and is tied with Stanford University. In looking at rankings among public universities alone, Tech’s electrical engineering and computer engineering programs both placed second among their respective disciplines.

The College of Engineering tied for fourth with Caltech, and all of the programs offered by the College placed among the top 4 of their respective disciplines. Among public universities, Georgia Tech’s engineering program ranks second behind the University of California, Berkeley. To learn more, please read the news releases on the College of Engineering website at https://coe.gatech.edu/news/2019/09/undergraduate-engineering-program-ranked-4th-usnews and on the Georgia Tech website at https://www.news.gatech.edu/2019/09/09/georgia-tech-climbs-top-5-among-public-universities-us-news-rankings-engineering-programs.

“These rankings show that we are doing an amazing job in both education and research, and that our hard work and dedication to excellence are being noticed and appreciated by our peers,” said Magnus Egerstedt, the Steve W. Chaddick School Chair for ECE. “All of these factors make ECE an excellent option for prospective undergraduate students who are looking for a challenging and rewarding educational experience.

“I am truly grateful for the dedicated efforts of our faculty, staff, and students that have helped us to achieve the highest rankings that we have ever had for our undergraduate programs…and we’re certainly not going to stop here!” Egerstedt continued. “Thank you again, everyone!”
