Her work has been published recently in the journal Computers and Composition.

The article considers the relationships between critical making, identity, and the power systems that differentiate "high" technological making and "low" technological making. Gollihue explores the ways making is an embodied and relational process that is present in the practices of people living outside the margins of academic and corporate Maker movements. By showing the ways agricultural production on a farm are embodied processes of making with and through human and nonhuman makers using first-person videoethnographic methods, she extends current critiques of critical making and consider how including everyday, non-electronic material practices in the Maker movement redefines and broadens what it means to make, and therefore what it means to be a maker.

If you want to find Dr. Gollihue's article, click here: "Re-Making the Makerspace: Bodies, Power, and Identity in Critical Making Practices," (2019) Computers and Composition, Volume 53, pp. 21-33.

Re-Making the Makerspace: Bodies, Power, and Identity in Critical Making Practices" in Computers and Composition.
["kgollihue3@gatech.edu
