{"625735":{"#nid":"625735","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Student Health Insurance Enrollment Deadline Approaching","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech students who are required to or would like to enroll in the student health insurance program (SHIP) must do so by September 15\u003Csup\u003Eth\u003C\/sup\u003E. Georgia Tech offers SHIP to enrolled undergraduate and graduate students and their eligible dependents who do not already have\u0026nbsp;insurance.\u0026nbsp;This plan includes comprehensive coverage (medical, dental, vision, prescription, and worldwide travel) for the 2019-2020 policy year administered by UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe University System of Georgia (USG) requires certain groups of students to enroll in SHIP.\u003Cstrong\u003E Students who fall into these \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/health.gatech.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/usg_mandatory_groups.pdf\u0022\u003Emandatory groups\u003C\/a\u003E are not automatically enrolled and must enroll in or waive coverage by the September 15\u003Csup\u003Eth\u003C\/sup\u003E deadline. \u003C\/strong\u003EThose students who are not in a mandatory group, but are taking at least 4 credit hours including postdoctoral scholars, J1 scholars and OPT, may also enroll in the voluntary SHIP. \u003Cstrong\u003EStudents enrolling in the voluntary SHIP must also enroll by September 15\u003Csup\u003Eth\u003C\/sup\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E. Distance learning students or other online degree programs are not eligible.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EStudents may also choose to enroll their dependents. Eligible dependents include a student\u0026rsquo;s spouse and eligible children up to 26 years of age, including stepchildren, foster children, and legally adopted children.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESHIP coverage begins August 1, 2019 for one academic year only and \u003Cstrong\u003Eall eligible students MUST enroll each fall and spring semester for coverage continuation from policy year to policy year\u003C\/strong\u003E.
