Both the input and the resulting objectives were at the center of the initiative known as \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/president.gatech.edu\/path-forward-together\u0022\u003EA Path Forward \u0026mdash; Together\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;It is time to consider the future of this initiative while also remaining focused on fulfilling the intent behind its creation,\u0026rdquo; he said. \u0026ldquo;I\u0026rsquo;m pleased to report that more than 60% [of the objectives] have been resolved: either completed or, upon additional study, considered closed due to prohibitive costs or other institutional limitations.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Those achievements include increased academic flexibility through mini-mesters and a \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.news.gatech.edu\/2019\/05\/15\/academic-forgiveness-policy-expands-beyond-first-year-students\u0022\u003Erevised grade substitution policy\u003C\/a\u003E; expanded facilities for our LGBTQIA Resource Center and more \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.news.gatech.edu\/2019\/02\/06\/campus-welcomes-gender-inclusive-single-occupant-restrooms\u0022\u003Egender-inclusive restrooms\u003C\/a\u003E; and additional staff and programming in support of student mental health, exemplified by our new \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/care.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ECenter for Assessment, Referral, and Education (CARE)\u003C\/a\u003E.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHe went on to announce that the formal structure for A Path Forward \u0026mdash; Together would be disbanded but would not alter the Institute\u0026rsquo;s commitment to the remaining objectives. Each unfinished objective has assigned leads who have responsibility for maintaining momentum. Leads are expected to provide updates during the next reporting period in November.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;The campus commitment to A Path Forward \u0026mdash; Together has underscored the resilience of our institution and its people,\u0026rdquo; Peterson concluded. \u0026ldquo;At the same time, we must anticipate and ensure we are providing what our students need to succeed, both during their time on campus and post-graduation.
