{"62509":{"#nid":"62509","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Minor Changes Made to Tuition Assistance Program","body":[{"value":"\u003Ch6\u003ENote: the following information is derived from a memorandum circulated by the University System of Georgia\u0027s vice chancellor for human resources on November 2, 2010.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/h6\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) was established to promote the professional growth and development of eligible employees of the University System of Georgia. In order to continue to support this goal the following changes have been made to the TAP policy and operational procedures. These changes will become effective January 1, 2011. \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAt the August 2010 meeting of the Board of Regents the board approved changes to the current TAP policy to increase the maximum credit hours from eight (8) academic semester hours to nine (9) academic semester credit hours for each of the three designated semester periods to become effective January 1, 2011.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAfter recommendations from the Chancellor, input from the TAP Advisory Committee and from the Registrars the operational procedure for TAP has been changed to allow employees a minimum of three (3) days prior to the first day of classes to enroll in TAP available classes. The current procedure allows TAP participants to enroll at the end of the regular student registration period, which in some cases is the first day of class.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETAP enrollment will continue to be granted on a space\u2010available basis.
