If you need something transparent, thermally resistant, chemically resistant, lightweight, heavy, or able to withstand high temperatures or high vacuum - glass might be the answer. I assist in the design and construction of custom scientific glassware or repair of existing equipment. The shop is outfitted to complete a variety of tasks from grinding, cutting, and drilling to hot fabrications, repairs, and optical sealing. The shop is able to accommodate borosilicate glass, fused silica (quartz), vycor(limited), optical windows, frit discs, graded seals, and glass to metal seals.
