Online education review site \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.classcentral.com\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EClass Central\u003C\/a\u003E \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.classcentral.com\/report\/top-moocs-2019-edition\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Enamed\u003C\/a\u003E an undergraduate massive open online course (MOOC) as one of the top 100 MOOCs ever.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPython programming class \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cc.gatech.edu\/academics\/degree-programs\/bachelors\/online-cs1301\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ECS1301xI\u003C\/a\u003E (the first mini-course in the divided CS1301 MOOC series) is now one of Class Central\u0026rsquo;s highest-rated MOOCs of all time with more than 30 five-star reviews. Students praise the course for its strong explanations, interactive learning, and accessibility to beginning programmers.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESince 2017, more than 83,000 students have taken the full programming course. OMSCS Associate Director of Student Experience \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cc.gatech.edu\/people\/david-joyner\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDavid Joyner\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E, who created and teaches the course, thinks it shows the desire for MOOCs that compare to courses for credit.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;There is an\u0026nbsp;appreciation and thirst for MOOCs that really capture the full depth and\u0026nbsp;breadth of what students could learn on campus,\u0026rdquo; he said. \u0026ldquo;There\u0026rsquo;s always been a\u0026nbsp;question about whether students even want the depth of an on-campus\u0026nbsp;class in their MOOCs.
