{"624253":{"#nid":"624253","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Associate Professor Chris Ippolito Publishes New Book: Vers Des Identite\u0301s Culturelles Postfrancophones?","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EChristophe Ippolito, Associate Professor of French in the School of Modern Languages,\u0026nbsp;has recently announced the publication of his new book:\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.editionspassages.fr\/produit\/ippolitofrancophonie\/\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003EVers Des Identite\u0301s Culturelles Postfrancophones? \u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHis book examines certain cultural identities constructed from stereotypes or what may be called political Francophonie.\u0026nbsp;The text analyzes various types of mobility that, from translation to\u0026nbsp;exile, characterize\u0026nbsp;certain contemporary Francophone identities, thenshows\u0026nbsp;how Francophone cultural communities (and among them writers) can, especially in resisting\u0026nbsp;to neocolonialism, have a positive impact in literature and beyond.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPostfrancophonie\u0026nbsp;is first and foremost a critical attitude\u0026nbsp;towards Francophonie, especially in its official ideological version, because such criticism is necessary today if we are finally to dispel the great colonial\u0026nbsp;shadow. It also amounts to inventing other relationships between languages,\u0026nbsp;cultures and nations. From Africa to Quebec, from France to Lebanon, Ippolito explores what can make\u0026nbsp;postfrancophonie\u0026nbsp;possible.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EChristophe Ippolito works on French and Francophone literature after 1800.
