{"622545":{"#nid":"622545","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Find Out How Graduate Studies Can Help You","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EAs a new grad student, you\u0026rsquo;ve probably got a ton of questions ranging from where to get career help to how can you meet other students.\u0026nbsp;Thankfully, the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS), a unit of the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Faculty Development, is here to help.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u0026ldquo;We serve students from the moment they consider applying to a graduate program until they graduate,\u0026rdquo; said Nazanin Tork, the assistant director of Graduate Studies.\u0026nbsp;\u0026ldquo;Our office also serves as a hub for connecting students with the units across campus that support them including\u0026nbsp;the Counseling Center and Graduate Career Development.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHere are some of the ways the office\u0026rsquo;s team is here to assist during your time at Georgia Tech:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EOrientation and Grad EXPO.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003ETo get a better understanding of all that Tech has to offer, be sure to attend one of the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/grad.gatech.edu\/orientation-gradexpo\u0022\u003EOGS\u003Cstrong\u003E \u003C\/strong\u003Einstitute-level orientation sessions.\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;These are held each Tuesday and Thursday from Aug. 8 to 20. For more in-depth information on student organizations and offices around campus, you can also drop by the GradExpo on Aug. 15 at Clough Commons. Classes are led by senior grad students and help you get to know other new students.\u0026nbsp;You\u0026rsquo;ll also learn strategies for managing work and stress, creating a degree completion plan, and developing career goals. OGS can also assist with various Tech fellowships (like President\u0026rsquo;s Fellowships and Georgia Tech Institute Fellowships) that supplement other funding you might receive.
