The meeting occurs from 2-6 June 2019 and is organized by\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/biosci.gatech.edu\/people\/mark-hay\u0022 rel=\u0022noopener noreferrer\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EMark Hay\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;and\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/biosci.gatech.edu\/people\/julia-kubanek\u0022 rel=\u0022noopener noreferrer\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EJulia Kubanek\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;with a Local Organizing Committee composed of: Charles Derby (Georgia State University), Nicole Gerardo (Emory University), Vinayak Agarwal, Brian Hammer, Mark Hay, Julia Kubanek, Frank Stewart, and Marc Weissburg (Georgia Institute of Technology).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe theme of the conference, \u0026ldquo;Chemistry as the Language of Life\u0026rdquo;, emphasizes that most of Earth\u0026rsquo;s organisms lack eyes and ears, and so sense and communicate with co-occurring organisms via chemical cues and signals.\u0026nbsp; In this sense, chemically mediated interactions constitute an \u0026ldquo;instruction manual\u0026rdquo; for biotic interactions and for understanding and managing populations, communities, and ecosystems.\u0026nbsp; The scientific program will offer sessions focused on emerging topics concerning inter- and intraspecific interactions, as well molecular structures, applications, and member-submitted symposia.
