In fact, because he received the Campus Services Student Spotlight award, he\u0026rsquo;s known as exceptional.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDavid Knobbe, assistant director, Campus Recreation Center\/Outdoor Recreation, said it like this:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Jerett is innovative, works tirelessly to improve his community, is committed to real-world problem solving, and is conscientious, personable, and inspirational. He is an exceptional leader and team member who has distinguished himself as committed to service and professionalism.\u0026nbsp;His work ethic is unparalleled; he sees possibilities in situations where many miss them. He is always available to help, and he holds himself and others to high standards of performance.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I consider Jerett Lupoli to be one of the most impressive students with whom I have worked.\u0026nbsp;His efforts have impacted hundreds of students in positive and significant ways.\u0026rdquo;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhen asked to tell us a bit about Jerett and what he does at Campus Recreation (CRC), David said:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Jerett\u0026nbsp;is the current\u0026nbsp;Wilderness Outpost\u0026nbsp;manager\u0026nbsp;at the CRC; he has a 3.8\u0026nbsp;cumulative GPA.\u0026nbsp;He is\u0026nbsp;a\u0026nbsp;3rd year electrical engineering\u0026nbsp;student\u0026nbsp;set\u0026nbsp;to graduate in May 2020.\u0026nbsp;He has been employed by the CRC since spring of 2017.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Besides being an excellent employee, he\u0026nbsp;has volunteered with ORGT Whitewater Kayaking since 2016,\u0026nbsp;logging\u0026nbsp;at least 3,000 hours of service to other students.\u0026nbsp;He\u0026nbsp;has led or assisted with over 25 instructional whitewater kayaking\u0026nbsp;adventure\u0026nbsp;trips\u0026nbsp;with ORGT; taught\u0026nbsp;at least 50 kayaking roll school clinics at the CRC;\u0026nbsp;assisted with the coordination\u0026nbsp;of\u0026nbsp;a high-end whitewater expedition in 2017\u0026nbsp;which served 12 people\u0026nbsp;and\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;lasted 12 days, and involved preparing the team for the\u0026nbsp;10\u0026nbsp;months\u0026nbsp;prior to the trip.\u0026nbsp;He is an excellent risk manager and organizer.\u0026nbsp;He is a licensed Wilderness EMT.\u0026nbsp;He served as the primary organizer for the Whitewater community (Vice President) in spring and summer 2018.\u0026nbsp;He has served on the ORGT advisory board for a 2017-2018.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWith all of these descriptions and more \u0026ndash; David wrote much more \u0026ndash; it was easy to see that Jerett \u003Cem\u003Emust \u003C\/em\u003Ebe selected as a 2019 Student Spotlight.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ELike all Campus Services Student Spotlight recipients, we asked Jerett a series of questions about himself and here\u0026rsquo;s what he told us:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPosition at Campus Services Department:\u003C\/strong\u003E Manager of the Wilderness Outpost\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMajor:\u003C\/strong\u003E Electrical Engineering\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EYear in School:\u003C\/strong\u003E Third Year\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EHometown:\u003C\/strong\u003E Dunwoody, GA\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EHow long have you worked in this position?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESince August 2018\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat are your duties in this position?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EI rent out outdoor equipment and sign students up for Outdoor Instructional Trips. The organization leads outdoor trips for students in eght different sports. College is about finding yourself and you shouldn\u0026rsquo;t be afraid to try a new activity.
