He is a health educator specializing in sexual violence prevention. His role focuses on facilitating workshops and coordinating the VOICE peer education program. Previously, he worked with Planned Parenthood Southeast as the Atlanta area community health educator and team action group\u0026nbsp;coordinator where he facilitated sex education curricula and trained local high school\u0026rsquo;s on peer to peer sex education. I lead most of the campus wide primary prevention\u0026nbsp;efforts to end sexual violence at Georgia Tech.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat do you enjoy most about your job?\u202f\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI enjoy witnessing students have \u0026quot;a ha\u0026quot; moments. Student often times\u0026nbsp;need to work\u0026nbsp;to unlearn a lot of negative ideas about sex and body autonomy. In many of the workshops I have facilitated, students have moments where the concepts click and it is a beautiful experience to witness.\u202f\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EApril is Sexual Assault Awareness Month\u0026nbsp;(SAAM), why is this month important?\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOur local and national community is plagued by a multitude of social concerns competing for solution driven attention. SAAM is an important month, because it compels us as a community and nation to pause, reflect, and have intentional conversations\u0026nbsp;about the solutions needed to end sexual violence.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EHow can Georgia Tech stay involved in this issue past\u0026nbsp;April?\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe campus community has a variety of opportunities available for anyone -student, faculty, or staff- to get involved in the work to end sexual violence at Tech.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPAUSE: People against unwanted sexual experiences is a student group\u0026nbsp;on campus.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EVOICE Peer Education is a\u0026nbsp;student group that does peer-to-peer sexual violence prevention education throughout campus.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESexual Violence Prevention\u0026nbsp;Alliance (SVPA)\u0026nbsp;is an\u0026nbsp;interdisciplinary community that is engaged and committed to collaboratively ending sexual violence at Georgia Tech.
