Robinson\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;has joined the School\u0026#39;s\u0026nbsp;Advisory Board. Robinson graduated from the Institute in 2016 with a Ph.D. from the\u0026nbsp;Digital Media program, where she worked as a visiting researcher from 2016-2018.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERobinson works across the disciplines of public health, communication, Human-Computer Interaction, and digital media. Her career has been focused on the use of emerging media technology and is distinguished by a commitment to community engagement and public service. She was a 2018 recipient of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Alumni Award.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAs a visiting researcher, she collaborated with colleagues at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) and the Institute for People and Technology (iPAT) on the application of mobile surveys for mixed-methods data collection, and the use of multi-touch surfaces and data visualization for the analysis and presentation of media-rich data. With funding from USAID, she deployed these technologies to evaluate Zika virus public health communication programs in Brazil and the Dominican Republic.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Dr.\u0026nbsp;Robinson\u0026nbsp;embodies the very best a multidisciplinary graduate degree in LMC can offer: She unites in her scholarly work and career practice a serious interest in how our ever accelerating digital technologies can and need to be informed with human-centered concerns,\u0026rdquo;\u0026nbsp;said LMC Chair Richard Utz. \u0026ldquo;In addition, she is an eloquent champion for social justice, especially\u0026nbsp;the inclusion of\u0026nbsp;LGBTQIA students, faculty, and staff at Georgia Tech, one of our unit\u0026#39;s strategic goals.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EShe began her career in private sector start-ups, founding\u0026nbsp;a multi-partner consulting firm, and producing\u0026nbsp;broadcast film and television.
