618655 news 1551463771 1551470799 <![CDATA[Georgia Tech Earns STEM Education Grant]]> Georgia Tech is one of 12 universities nationwide that recently received a grant aimed at improving undergraduate education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

The “mini-grants” were awarded by the Association of American Universities (AAU), with funding provided by the Northrop Grumman Foundation. The network of 12 recipients is part of the AAU Undergraduate STEM Education Initiative. The project began in 2011 to encourage STEM departments at AAU universities to use teaching practices proven to be effective in engaging students in STEM education and in helping students learn. Emory University is also a recipient.
