One way in which CEISMC carries out this mission is through its presence at Georgia Tech Savannah.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/ceismc.gatech.edu\/savannah\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ECEISMC Savannah Campus\u003C\/a\u003E serves as a hub of resources for K-12 teachers and students in the southeastern region of Georgia. It is currently partnered with schools in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty counties.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECEISMC Savannah utilizes the expertise of the Georgia Tech community to increase STEM interest and achievement for all students. It offers a variety of workshops and programs for K-12 students, including \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/fll.gatech.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EFirst Lego League (FLL)\u003C\/a\u003E, \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/ceismc.gatech.edu\/savannah\/sp\/fsa\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EFull STEAM Ahead summer camps\u003C\/a\u003E, and \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/ceismc.gatech.edu\/savannah\/events\/eso\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EElementary Science Olympiad\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition, CEISMC Savannah offers satellite camps for rural Georgia school districts and hosts its own version of CEISMC K.I.D.S. Club called \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/ceismc.gatech.edu\/savannah\/sp\/stemlabs\u0022\u003ESaturday STEMlabs\u003C\/a\u003E, where students can interact with STEM concepts in engaging ways.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESavannah is also home to \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/pe.gatech.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE)\u003C\/a\u003E. GTPE combines academic rigor with industry training to inspire workforce leaders. GTPE helps to frame the goals of CEISMC Savannah uniquely.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Being in an environment where workforce and STEM education co-exist means that we are able to view our efforts through the lens of each student as a lifelong learner and how they might one day fit into the economic pipeline,\u0026rdquo; said Tim Cone, program director of CEISMC Savannah.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe region has already seen an impact in K-12 STEM engagement. For example, CEISMC Savannah established the first \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/k12inventure.gatech.edu\/home\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EK-12 InVenture Prize Regional Competition\u003C\/a\u003E. Before CEISMC Savannah was established, no schools in the southeastern region participated in the K-12 InVenture Prize. In 2018, CEISMC Savannah helped bring the number of participating schools in the region up to 15.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis increase is just one example of how greater access to K-12 STEM opportunities in southeastern Georgia has heightened student engagement and interest in STEM.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to providing opportunities for students, CEISMC Savannah also offers professional development for STEM teachers. This includes K-12 InVenture Prize support, \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/earsketch.gatech.edu\/landing\/#\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EEarSketch\u003C\/a\u003E training, \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.birdbraintechnologies.com\/hummingbirdduo\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EHummingbird Robotics\u003C\/a\u003E training, and assistance for schools that are developing Makerspaces.
