Co-hosted by the Atlanta Global Studies Center and the School of Modern Languages and co-organized by Dina Khapaeva (Modern Languages) and Nikolay Koposov (Emory),\u0026nbsp;the session was focused on the politics of memory, which has become, in this country as elsewhere, one of the hot political topics and one of the areas in which democratic political culture has been aggressively contested by populists, nationalists, and racists.\u0026nbsp;The panel presenters compared populist memory politics in the United States, France, Germany, and Eastern Europe.\u0026nbsp;Richard Utz (Georgia Tech),\u0026nbsp;Kristina W. Mormino (Gwinnett College),\u0026nbsp;Katharine D. Kennedy (Agnes Scott College),\u0026nbsp;Nikolay Koposov (Emory University) were speakers at the panel\u0026nbsp;chaired by\u0026nbsp;John Krige (Georgia Tech).
