Getting to Know Georgia Tech: Samantha Hasen

With over 15,000 undergraduate students, six colleges, and more than 30 majors, the Georgia Tech community is a large and unique group.

Meet Samantha Hasen – B.S. Biomedical Engineering, Class of 2021

Hometown – Valdosta, Georgia

Why did you choose to attend Georgia Tech and study biomedical engineering?

I knew that I wanted to be in Georgia Tech’s unique, advanced biomedical engineering program. I love being creative, especially within the medical field.

What would you like to do after graduation?

I would like to get a job in research and development, but also gain experience in business. I currently do research at a biomedical engineering lab at Emory University, where we are creating a 3D-printed heart valve.

What is your favorite memory at Tech?

My favorite memory was Homecoming game day because it was my birthday, and everyone was celebrating with me.

What do you like to do outside of classes?

I like to hang out with my friends and go hiking. I also write, and am the author of a children's book.
