  <title><![CDATA[Nusaiba Baker Wins Three Minute Thesis Competition]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Researching the uses of nanotechnology in medicine is challenging &mdash; but so is explaining how it works in basic terms in less than three minutes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But, Nusaiba Baker has succeeded at both, winning first place in the Ph.D. category at the final round of Georgia Tech&rsquo;s 2018 Three Minute Thesis competition. Her presentation was titled, <a href="https://youtu.be/ZFXiLXmdvrA">&quot;Oral Delivery of DNA-enzyme Nanoparticles Ameliorates Inflammation in a Murine Model of Ulcerative Colitis.&quot;</a></p>

<p>Baker, a doctoral student in Biomedical Engineering, competed against several other Ph.D. students and three master&rsquo;s students in the final round of the competition on Nov. 7.</p>

<p>The following Ph.D. and master&rsquo;s students also won prizes ranging from $500 to&nbsp;$2,000:</p>
