  <title><![CDATA[Kate Pride Brown Participates in Baikal International Water Forum]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The 2nd Baikal International Environmental Water Forum took place&nbsp;in Irkutsk, Russia on September 20th and 21st. Over the course of two days, national representatives and other speakers discussed the implications of state policy and the role of international cooperation in preserving the Lake Baikal ecosystem. Kate Pride Brown, assistant professor of sociology in HSOC,&nbsp;participated in the invited plenary session of the event.&nbsp;The Forum also published a short article about her research and involvement with Lake Baikal, which can be found <a href="http://baikal-forum.com/en/press-room/news/vo-vtorom-bmevf-primet-uchastie-kejt-prajd-braun,-amerikanka,-napisavshaya-knigu-o-bajkale.html">here</a>.</p>
