For the third consecutive year, the Georgia
Institute of Technology has been ranked as the number one graduate engineering
school in the United States by Hispanic
Business magazine. The publication recognized Georgia Tech on the basis of the
university’s Hispanic enrollment and retention rate, as well as, student
services, faculty and reputation.
Georgia Tech is one of the largest
producers of Hispanic engineers in the country, a status achieved through the
high quality and reputation of its engineering programs, combined with targeted recruitment and retention programs
for Hispanic students, according to Georgia Tech Dean of Engineering Don
Giddens.
“We are consistently working to foster
a learning environment that builds on the talents and contributions of
everyone,” said Giddens. “In this environment, Hispanic students, as well as
all of our students, can succeed and grow as they prepare to be engineers of
tomorrow.”
Not only does the Office of Hispanic Initiatives (OHI) assist with the
recruitment of high-achieving, talented Hispanic/Latino students to Georgia
Tech, OHI also provides programs that help them grow academically, personally
and professionally and prepares them for success after graduating.
