Teachers must attend the entire workshop and submit both\n a Scratch and Alice project for credit. All teachers must register at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/KNQVXWH\u0022\u003Ehttp:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/KNQVXWH\u003C\/a\u003E.\n Georgia public school teachers must also register at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.ctaern.org\/\u0022\u003Ehttp:\/\/www.ctaern.org\u003C\/a\u003E \nfor workshop CTAERN3079.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETeachers will build a 2D animation and a game in Scratch and 3D movies \n(animations) in Alice.  Teachers will use drag-and-drop programming.  \nBoth Scratch and Alice are free software.  Scratch is available from \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/scratch.mit.edu\/\u0022\u003Ehttp:\/\/scratch.mit.edu\u003C\/a\u003E\n and Alice from \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.alice.org\/\u0022\u003Ehttp:\/\/www.alice.org\u003C\/a\u003E.\n  The workshop will explain how to cover introductory computing concepts\n such as: class, object, method, parameter, function, variable, \niteration (looping), conditional execution, and event-driven execution. \nEach teacher will receive materials including slides, exercises, lesson \nplans, and grading rubrics. This material can be used in Technology, \nComputing in the Modern World, Beginning Programming, or AP CS A. \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis workshop is free for Georgia teachers, and if you live \u0026gt; 30 \nmiles from Georgia Tech we will pay for your hotel for Friday night (2 \nteachers per room), Friday night dinner, and Sat breakfast. If you would\n prefer a private room you can pay 1\/2 the hotel cost. We will cover \nparking for Georgia teachers who stay at the hotel and reimburse parking\n for Georgia teachers who do not stay at the hotel. We will pay for \nlunch for all teachers.
