They are participants in\u0026nbsp;Aquatic Chemical Ecology, the National Science Foundation\u0026#39;s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program in the school.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe undergraduate women come from the following universities and colleges:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EAgnes Scott College\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBrandeis University\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECollege of Wooster\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECornell University\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EGeorge Mason University\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EFlorida International University\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ENorfolk State University\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EStony Brook University\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EUniversity of Georgia\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EUniversity of Notre Dame\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThat all participants are women is a happy coincidence.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe\u0026nbsp;undergraduate researchers will work\u0026nbsp;alongside Georgia Tech faculty and graduate students, doing research in the following areas:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBiological and geochemical transformations of chemicals in aquatic ecosystems\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESensory biology and ecology of aquatic chemical communication\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EEcological roles and consequences of chemicals in aquatic environment\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOrganizing the program is biologist \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/biosci.gatech.edu\/people\/frank-stewart\u0022\u003EFrank Stewart\u003C\/a\u003E, an associate professor in the school.
