Ouzts Receives 2 Campus Awards for Work with Students

Instrumental. According to Skanda Prasad, the outgoing president of Graduate Student Government Association (SGA), that’s how important Robbie Ouzts was to this year’s Career, Research, and Innovation Development Conference (CRIDC).

“Robbie played a central role in making CRIDC 2018 such a big success, especially in ensuring that our first Graduate Career Fair brought in such a large employer response,” Prasad said. “She was instrumental in helping our events team to successfully plan CRIDC, going above and beyond in her efforts.”

For this reason, Grad SGA gave this year’s Susan E. Cozzens Administrator of the Year Award to Ouzts, a career development advisor II, at their spring banquet. The honor is given to a staff member who made a significant impact on graduate students and/or Graduate SGA this year.

Additionally, Ouzts was recently the second recipient of the Rich Steele Campus Services Award (Steele received the first in June 2017), which recognizes a staff member who has demonstrated a commitment to making the the university experience a positive one for Georgia Tech students.

“We’re so lucky to have Robbie as a support for our students,” said Bonnie Ferri, vice provost of Graduate Education and Faculty Development. “Whether it’s advising them on career options throughout the year or helping to the new graduate student career fair, Robbie’s efforts are vital to the success of our unit.”

Ouzts came to Tech in 2009 as a senior career specialist working with graduate students. She has a master’s degree in Counseling from Delta State University and is a Board Certified Career Coach, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed Professional Counselor.
