Boulard's Book Published in Tangence

Stephanie Boulard, Associate Professor of French in the School of Modern Languages, along with Stella Spriet of the University of Saskatchewan, recently had their co-edited book titled, Traversées de Pascal Quignard, published in Tangence.

Few writers have combined such notoriety with such eclecticism, such a wide readership for certain texts with such obscurity in others, as has the award-winning French writer Pascal Quignard. His books are filled with literary fragments, be they aphorisms, anecdotes, memories, personal reflections, or autobiographical details. Traversées de Pascal Quignard features contributions from world-renowned scholars and echoes the questions that unfold in Quignard's works: literature as another relation to the world; the dynamic between dream and reality; the question of writing and reading; and, with it, those of poetics, linguistics, the sacred and the profane.

Stephanie Boulard is co-director of France Language for Business and Technology study abroad program at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her ongoing research interests include the relationship between literature and the visual arts in 19th-century French literature or in contemporary French authors’ works such as Pascal Quignard, Helene Cixous or Claude-Louis Combet.
