  <title><![CDATA[ACLU of Georgia Summer Internship Program]]></title>

<p><strong>Unpaid internship</strong></p>

<p>A&nbsp;summer internship with the Political Department at the ACLU of Georgia provides the&nbsp;experience of learning how to operate within a grassroots movement focused on comprehensive criminal justice reform, and the assurance of voter rights across the State of Georgia. Those who are selected to participate will be involved in grassroots organizing, membership engagement, volunteer recruitment, engagement, and management, policy research, strategic communications, coalition building, and integrated advocacy efforts under the direction of the members within the Political Department.</p>

<p><strong>Internship positions will be available in the following areas:</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>Athens: 3 positions</li>
	<li>Atlanta: 10 positions</li>
	<li>Augusta: 2 positions</li>
	<li>Columbus: 2 positions</li>
	<li>Macon: 3 positions</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>

<p>These<strong>&nbsp;positions are unpaid</strong>, with flexible hours to accommodate schedules. However, a minimum of 20 hours a week is required for the&nbsp;position.</p>

<ul>
	<li>Working with the Community Engagement Manager and Associate through assisting with event creation, planning, preparation, and&nbsp;execution.</li>
	<li>Preparing policy briefs and memorandums for the Policy&nbsp;Counsel.</li>
	<li>Conducting necessary research for literature and Political Department&nbsp;initiatives.</li>
	<li>Processing volunteer recruitment intake; managing the corresponding&nbsp;data.</li>
	<li>Attending coalition meetings, building our grassroots&nbsp;network.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Desired Experience and Qualifications:</strong></p>

<p>These internships are open to students who have completed at least one year of college and are currently enrolled in a higher learning institution. Applications must possess the following:</p>

<ul>
	<li>A&nbsp;great&nbsp;passion&nbsp;for&nbsp;criminal&nbsp;justice&nbsp;reform&nbsp;and&nbsp;voters&rsquo;&nbsp;rights.</li>
	<li>Actively engaged with ACLU of Georgia&nbsp;values.</li>
	<li>Strong research skills, including Internet&nbsp;research.</li>
	<li>Strong verbal and written communications&nbsp;skills.</li>
	<li>&nbsp;Initiative to see projects through to&nbsp;completion.</li>
	<li>Highly&nbsp;skilled&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;Microsoft&nbsp;Office&nbsp;suite&nbsp;(Word,&nbsp;PowerPoint,&nbsp;Excel)</li>
	<li>Highly&nbsp;skilled&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;G&nbsp;Suite&nbsp;(Drive,&nbsp;Docs,&nbsp;Calendar,&nbsp;Sheets,&nbsp;etc.)</li>
	<li>Some experience with the Adobe Acrobat is&nbsp;preferred.</li>
</ul>
