WST Learning Community residents enjoy academic and career success. Many WST alumnae pursue careers in business, engineering, science, or computing after graduation and a significant number go on to graduate school or to study and work in medicine or law.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EModeled on residence hall programs for women in science and engineering, the WST Learning Community offers dinners, lunches, receptions, lectures, and other activities addressing academic and career planning.\u0026nbsp; A recent resident remarks \u0026quot;Being a part of the WST program has enabled and encouraged me to apply the knowledge and skills that I have learned at Georgia Tech in many ways. Through the programs and speakers, I have been given the opportunity to not only learn more about myself but also the opportunity to further the cause through research and philanthropic events. \u0026quot;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWST pairs interested residents with faculty mentors, offers volunteer service for residents with a local middle school girls\u0026#39; science club, supports conference attendance,\u0026nbsp;and provides paid undergraduate research opportunities for students working with Georgia Tech faculty members. Residence hall activities also include study sessions, social events, arts and crafts projects, and community planning meetings.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe student activities fee for living in the WST Learning Community is $200 per term. Activities include dinners and lunches with GT faculty, staff, and administrators; research partnerships; service opportunities; and faculty mentoring.
