The article discusses how many computer science classes in the district are catching code fever in no small part thanks to the program.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDeveloped by \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/music.gatech.edu\/content\/jason-freeman\u0022\u003EJason Freeman\u003C\/a\u003E and \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.iac.gatech.edu\/people\/faculty\/magerko\u0022\u003EBrian Magerko\u003C\/a\u003E, Earsketch allows students to learn to code in either Python or Javascript while manipulating loops, composing beats, and applying sound effects.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAlicia Harvey, a teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. high school, explains the appeal of the program to students succinctly. \u0026ldquo;Music is a natural gateway to learning,\u0026rdquo; she says. \u0026ldquo;I think that\u0026rsquo;s true mainly because it just feels good. Music is a language we all speak, in many genres.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Dekalb county school district continues to partner with Earsketch, even going so far as to host their own competition for students to show off their Earsketch creations.
