The highly selective program provides an intellectually stimulating environment and introduces the interns to the world of business research.\u0026nbsp; Under the guidance of Columbia Business School\u0026rsquo;s leading faculty, interns will take an active role on a research project in one of the following areas: accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management, decision sciences, operations, and data analytics.\u0026nbsp; This is a multi-disciplinary program and candidates from all majors are encouraged to apply.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe internship program is designed for undergraduate students at the end of their sophomore or junior year and first year Master Students.\u0026nbsp; Exceptional students from other classes are considered on a case-by-case basis.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESeveral of the top interns have gone on to leading MS and PhD programs in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, and Data Sciences.\u0026nbsp; Many been selected to join CBS full-time as a full-time Research Associates.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAll prospective interns must have the following qualifications:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EEnthusiasm for research, intellectual curiosity, and excellent communications skills\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe ability to learn new concepts and tools and apply them to your projects\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESkills for Quantitative Projects\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMost Economics, Finance, and Accounting (and economics based management and marketing) projects require:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EStrong background or major in econometrics and statistics\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe ability to run regressions using statistical packages such as STATA or R\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EQuantitative projects in Management, Marketing or DRO require:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBackground or major in mathematics, computer science, or engineering\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EStrong programming background (C\/C++, Python, R, or Matlab, etc.)\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESome projects may require the ability to do text processing using Python or Perl familiarity with basic machine learning algorithms\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESkills for Behavioral projects in Management or Marketing\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EInterest in behavioral experiments \u0026ndash; background or major in Psychology\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EKnowledge of SPSS, some projects may require knowledge of Python or R\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe program runs from May 27, 2018 \u0026ndash;
