Moore has been named as senior director of Stamps Health Services. He has a wealth of executive leadership experience in health care and in addressing health issues facing college students. He joins Georgia Tech from the University of Kentucky, where he was director of University Health Service. \n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMoore\u2019s research focuses on health behavior in young adults, and he is currently serving on the committee of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologist on Adolescent Health Care. He will officially begin his new position on August 9.\n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0022Stamps Health Services is a high quality organization with caring staff who provide excellent services to the Georgia Tech community. I am eager and excited to become part of this great team as we move forward with new health care initiatives, patient services and continuing a tradition of caring,\u0022 said Moore. \n \n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMoore received a bachelor\u2019s degree in biology from Middlebury College and a master\u2019s degree in public health in health services administration from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1983, he earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. He went on to complete an OB\/GYN residency at the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) , subsequently joining the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, in 1989 as a staff obstetrician\/gynecologist. After returning from Japan, he completed a residency in occupational medicine at USUHS, concentrating in reproductive toxicology. He is board certified in OB\/GYN.\n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EFollowing his residency, Moore began a career in the U.S. Navy, holding a variety of clinical and operational positions. From 1993 to 1994 Moore lead refugee operations caring for Cuban and Haitian women. At USUHS, he held dual appointments as adjunct associate professor in both OB\/GYN and Preventive Medicine. At NNMC he was vice chair and then chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 1997, he served as project manager of the NNMC\u2019s Mother and Infant Care Center, which was followed by an assignment as Task Force Command Surgeon aboard the USS Belleau Wood. In 2000, he was named medical director of Clinical Services at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina, responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of medical care for the Camp\u2019s health care system.\n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMoore entered the field of higher education in 2003 as director of University Health Service at Kentucky. In this role, he oversaw primary health care provided for 26,000 university students as well as workers compensation care and employee health for 12,000 faculty and staff. During his tenure, he steered the planning, design, funding and construction of an award-winning 72,000-square- foot, $26 million student and employee health facility.
