{"59969":{"#nid":"59969","#data":{"type":"news","title":"The Logistics Institute (TLI) Receives Grant from The UPS Foundation","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003E\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Logistics Institute (TLI), a unit of the School of Industrial and Systems\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Engineering at Georgia Tech, received a $150,000 grant from The UPS Foundation,\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  the charitable arm of UPS (NYSE:UPS).  The grant will be used to continue the \u003Cstrong\u003EUPS\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Global Logistics Program\u003C\/strong\u003E at Georgia Tech.  Through the \u003Cstrong\u003EUPS\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Global Logistics Program\u003C\/strong\u003E over the past eight years, TLI has established\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  relationships and is conducting research and educational programs in Singapore,\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  South Africa and China.  In October 2005, TLI co-sponsored the first Sino-U.S.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Global Logistics Forum in Shanghai, China and established a partnership with\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Shanghai Jiao Tong University.  \u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026quot;Over the past fifteen years UPS has been TLI\u0027s most consistent and generous\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  financial supporter.  UPS funding has been a key factor in the growth of Georgia\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Tech\u0027s global programs in logistics,\u0026quot; said Professor Don Ratliff, Executive\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Director of TLI.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EEstablished in 1951 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, The UPS Foundation identifies\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  specific areas where its backing clearly impacts social issues.
