  <title><![CDATA[Spending Winter Break in Atlanta]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>As the campus community prepares to depart for winter break, not all will face arduous travels or long holiday road trips.</p>

<p>Georgia Tech will be closed Dec. 25&ndash;29, as well as on Jan. 1. For those who stay in the area during the break, Atlanta offers many festive ways to enjoy an extra dose of down time.</p>

<h4><strong>Georgia Tech Athletics</strong></h4>

<p>Student-athletes don&#39;t get as much time off from their sports as they do classes. Support the Yellow Jackets on campus during the break:</p>

<h4><strong>Festive&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong></h4>

<p><a href="https://orgsync.com/135874/events/2182958/occurrences/5193707">Student Holiday Dinner</a>:&nbsp;GTPD, Housing, SGA, and Auxiliary Services will host an event for students who are still on campus Friday, Dec. 22, at 5 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. <p><a href="https://alliancetheatre.org/production/2017-18/a-christmas-carol">Alliance Theatre&rsquo;s <em>A Christmas Carol</em>:</a> Celebrate the holidays with the Dickens classic in this Broadway-scale production. <p><em><a href="http://puppet.org/buy-tickets/2017-18/rudolph-the-red-nosed-reindeer/">Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer</a></em>: The Center for Puppetry Arts features this holiday classic through Dec. 31. Tickets include a puppet-making workshop.</p>

<p>Ice Skating: Enjoy ice skating at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.atlanticstation.com/">Atlantic Station</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atlantadowntown.com/do/ice-rink-at-centennial-olympic-park">Centennial Olympic Park</a>, or&nbsp;<a href="http://www.parktavern.com/ice-rink">Park Tavern</a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
