  <title><![CDATA[Flowers Officially Honored With 2017 Association for Public Policy and Management Ph.D. Dissertation Award]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Mallory&nbsp;Flowers, a doctoral student in Georgia Tech&rsquo;s School of Public Policy, recently received the 2017&nbsp;Association for Public Policy and Management (APPAM) Ph.D. Dissertation Award.&nbsp;She was honored at the Presidential Address and Awards Ceremony in downtown Chicago on&nbsp;November 3, which she attended with her advisor, Dr. Daniel Matisoff.&nbsp;For her work, Flowers received a $1,500 cash award&nbsp;and publication of an abstract in th<em>e&nbsp;</em><em>Journal of Policy Analysis and Management</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Flowers&rsquo; dissertation, completed this past July,&nbsp;examines green certification behavior, drawing on a unique dataset on the technologies and practices used in the built environment. The insights developed throughout the study have implications for the design of voluntary and information-based policy approaches, sustainable planning, and strategic management.</p>

<p>Flowers completed her dissertation in the summer of 2017, and has accepted a postdoctoral position at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. There, she will continue developing the theoretical foundations and empirical extensions of her scholarly work.</p>

<p>The APPAM is a national organization&nbsp;dedicated to improving public policy and management by fostering excellence in research, analysis, and education.</p>
