It will\u0026nbsp;focus specifically on developments at IIT Gandhinagar, one of\u0026nbsp;India\u0026rsquo;s newest and fastest growing institutes of higher\u0026nbsp;education. Started less than a decade ago, IIT Gandhinagar has\u0026nbsp;sought to establish itself as a center of excellence in research,\u0026nbsp;teaching, and community engagement. The talk will highlight some\u0026nbsp;of the novel initiatives taken by the institute in its journey to\u0026nbsp;revitalize and reimagine the scope and context of a modern\u0026nbsp;engineering education.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe talk will also provide a good opportunity for those\u0026nbsp;interested in a teaching and research career in India to gain a\u0026nbsp;first-hand perspective on new opportunities and possibilities for\u0026nbsp;professional growth. As a quickly growing institute, IIT\u0026nbsp;Gandhinagar is actively looking for outstanding and enthusiastic\u0026nbsp;young faculty members not just in Engineering, but also in the\u0026nbsp;Sciences and the Liberal Arts. IIT Gandhinagar also welcomes\u0026nbsp;academics and industry veterans for shorter durations through its\u0026nbsp;vibrant Visiting Faculty program. The talk will provide a window\u0026nbsp;into various such opportunities, and the following discussion\u0026nbsp;session will serve as a platform to discover ways to get engaged\u0026nbsp;with the institute and contribute to its bold vision.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESpeaker Bio:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDr. Pratik Mutha is a faculty member in the Department of Biological Engineering and the Center for Cognitive Science at\u0026nbsp;the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, India. He\u0026nbsp;received his Bachelors in Engineering from the University of\u0026nbsp;Pune, India in 2002 and his Masters and PhD from Penn State\u0026nbsp;University in 2009. After a postdoctoral stint at the New Mexico\u0026nbsp;Veterans Affair\u0026rsquo;s Healthcare System in Albuquerque, NM, he\u0026nbsp;joined IIT Gandhinagar in late 2013. At IIT Gandhinagar, Dr.\u0026nbsp;Mutha has contributed significantly to institutional activities,\u0026nbsp;particularly those related to faculty recruitment and faculty\u0026nbsp;engagement.
